Before you know it you will be well-informed maybe even a semi-expert and you will be able to add value by actively participating in conversations on the subject matter. You might even find yourself assisting others. If you comment regularly on a highly-esteemed blog ensure your comments stimulate conversation, and bring your newly acquired knowledge to the community. The more value you contribute, the more likely it is that you will get noticed.
I spend a lot of time removing spam comments from my blog, but on occasion I will come across a real gem of a comment. This type of comment makes me want to know who the person is that left the comment. If this particular person asks me a question in the future or requests assistance from me, I will be obliged to offer my help.
You see the more you give in life and in business the greater the chances are of you receiving when you are in need. Although everyone isnt wired the same: some people might still turn down your plea for help, but there will be others who youve positively affected through your contributions who will approach you with new opportunities and ventures.
A mutually beneficial relationship requires you to do your part if youve proven that you have something of value to offer then you are well on your way to building solid business relationships.

I feel in my heart that 90% of the people failing at achieving great results (whether that be in business or just life) are failing because they are too scared and it’s that fear that’s keeping them from success.
Is it wrong to be scared?
In my opinion the answer is a resounding…
YES!
Especially if it is preventing you from accomplishing what you want in life.
I am not saying that I haven’t experienced fear or that it’s not normal to be hesitant or reluctant. No one knows what the future holds for us and fear is a normal emotional response to specific stimuli but it’s how you handle that fear that makes you what you are.
Does your fear cause you to give up at the first sign of trouble?
I see so many people who give up so quickly on something the moment things start to get even the slightest bit rough. These people seem to carry this trait throughout their entire lives… in how they handle road blocks, in their relationships, jobs, hobbies, health and pretty much anything else you can think of.
They start out optimistic and have this almost euphoric state of excitement. Kind of like when you start a new diet and can envision what you will look like when you get into shape or you start a new business opportunity and feel so positive that “this is the one”. There is this surge of energy that can cause you to even become vocal about how this time it is different.
Then the road block hits!
Suddenly as you get into the new adventure something happens… the excitement starts to disappear, frustration starts to settle in at how overwhelming the task ahead appears and then fear takes over…. and you stop!
Have you ever heard of Pavlovs law?
This is a really rough synopsis and pardon me if it is a little different then you remember but basically, it was an experiment where people were electrocuted with a slight but painful shock when a red signal appeared. They would be shown a green light and then shortly after the red light would appear and SHOCK!!!
This happened enough times that eventually as soon as the green signal was fired these people’s bodies would instantly react like they were going to be shocked even though the red light stopped appearing and they were no longer being shocked. They were so afraid once the initial green signal happened that they instantly treated it like the green signal was the shock.
Ask yourself truthfully if you have allowed yourself to become afraid of the green light?
Have you gotten to the point in your life that the moment the signal appears you completely give up and react like the worse case scenario has happened… even though it hasn’t?
I do not give a crap what your excuses are. You can blame evil internet marketers, big business, the government, you can blame genetics or you can even blame your mother for not breastfeeding you the fact is you have no one to blame but yourself.
Life is freaking hard and trying to get ahead in it is even harder.
Every day I am hit with something negative, whether it is an illness in my family, news of a recession, a failed business project or even a customer that over reacts and takes out their frustration by questioning my ethics. The bottom line is how I react to those situations is what makes me who I am.
If you want to succeed at anything, then you need to accept the bumps in the road. Accept that you are going to have to learn new things and those new things might not come easy to you. Do not blame others for that, you need to figure out how to make them work for you.
Stop being scared and blaming everyone else for your lot in life.
I have 101 reasons I could use to try and justify why I might fail at something but I have a better one for why I am going to succeed. That reason involves three people that matter to me more than anything. My beautiful daughters Gayle and Jillian and my soul mate Charlene. When it comes my time to leave this world what matters most to me is what my life meant to those three special people.
How will you be remembered by those closest to you?
Stop allowing fear to run your life and stop allowing excuses to prevent your success.

If you are trying to make money online, you know that search engine traffic is a HUGE component to your success. The following is a list of 8 Vital Tips for A Successful Search Engine Traffic Campaign according to “me”
This is how I do things and it works EXTREMELY well… take it or leave it, this has proven to work for me over and over and over again!
1. One Bite at a Time: You want to focus on one primary keyword for the first 3 weeks for each page you promote, I also recommend you initially only focus on one page at a time. This is because:
NOTE: Yes I realize variations are crucial but not at first for a brand new website. Focus on the term you want to rank for and then once you are ranking well or after three weeks, start adding variations.
I talk more about variations further down in this post also.
2. Look at Your Competition: Don’t be discouraged when you don’t see some competitors ranking in the top 2 or 3 spots that you can beat. What I do is start out by looking competition that looks beatable and is on page one or the top of page 2. Then I figure out the amount of links I will need to surpass them and increase that by 2X’s.
3. Variations Are Important: Eventually you are going to want to use variations. After three weeks or once you are ranking on page 1, you will need to start adding variations in the anchor text links.
The fact is Google wants to eventually find variations in your links anchor text and will actually penalize you eventually if it appears that you are too optimized from a linking point of view. That makes the use of variations an important component to campaign success.
4. Limit Interlinking: Try not to interlink Social sites, blogs and other websites you are using to link to your blog. You can interlink a few of them but I try not to interlink any of them. I do not want to risk Google or my competitors being able to uncover everything.
5. Split It Up: Make sure that you split the links to you index page and deep links to about a 50/50 split.
6. Consistency: Once you are ranking on the top of page 1, try to maintain an average of one new link a day (approximately 30 a month) with 40% using the main keyword term and the rest variations
7. Variety is Key: Make sure to use a variety of link sources and every month you should change it up a bit.
8. Promote Your Promotions: You want to ensure the search engines find each backlink you get and therefore you want to ensure you promote sites that link to you. This can be easily done by bookmarking with a service like Ping.FM

Your content is what is going to truly make you a Trusted Expert – it is the single most important thing you can do.
If you’ve been following all the advice I’ve already given in the Trusted Expert series, you’ve already come up with something of value to provide your users with – that thing that helps cement you as a Trusted Expert in their minds, whether it be a tool, ebook, audio or video file or report, and that’s great, but you can’t stop there.
As I mentioned in the last trusted Expert post about site maintenance, it’s important to your reputation as a Trusted Expert that you continually update your site. Make sure that you add in new testimonials when you get them – you can keep the best ones from the past up, but also make sure that there are also new ones, so that people will know that you’re still doing a great job of helping your customers now, not just 3 or 4 years ago.
Also, be sure you keep up on what’s happening in your niche, and where applicable, comment on it. It will add to your Trusted Expert status if you can prove to your audience that you not only participate in the niche, but you’re also up on what’s the latest happening. Put your ideas and opinions out there enough, and soon people will start to look to you for their news and information about your topic – the very definition of a Trusted Expert. And if they go to you for information, where are they going to go when they need to buy something – that’s right – to you.
Always respond to customer inquiries, and if you think the information is useful enough, get the original person’s permission and add it to your site. Not only are you sharing valuable information with your audience, you’re also showing them that you care enough to respond to the people who contact you, making other people more likely to contact you (and possibly buy from you) in the future.
Most importantly, don’t rest on your laurels. You may have written the best ebook or come up with the best tool in the world to brand yourself as a Trusted Expert. And you may think that’s enough. The problem is, no matter how good the original was, everything on the internet has an expiry date on it. Eventually, you’ll need to either update what you have or come up with something new entirely. By being proactive about this, you’ll just further reinforce the idea that you’re an expert in your niche.
Your content is the way you communicate with your users. Everything you say, and how and when you say it contribute to the overall effect of you being seen as an expert. The cornerstone of being a Trusted Expert is to provide users with useful information – not to make a sale. The sale is the side affect of them trusting you because of your useful content. So make sure that you put at least as much effort, if not more, into the quality of your content as you do with your marketing tactics and you’ll be fine.

Over the past couple of days I have been private messaged and emailed from a few people, who seem to want me to be able to predict the future for them and make everything OK.
They ask questions like…
“If i do this, how much money can I make?”
“What do I have to do to make this much $$$ in 60 days?”
…and the list goes on and on and on.
I have bad news… NO ONE CAN GUARANTEE anything like that!
Now before I sound too hypocritical… yes there are things that can be “Guaranteed”… but that does NOT mean that they work for absolutely everyone.

You need to understand that I have busted my ass off to create a business that earns 7+ figures a year… nothing “just happened”. The affiliate marketing side of my business for example, is not made up of me making one site and suddenly earning $14000 a month (like a recent product claimed).
THAT IS BULLSHIT!
What you need to understand is it is all about testing, tracking and tweaking… and doing this over and over again. Not just building one site and BANG you are rich.
My personal affiliate marketing system is made up of making a certain number of new sites every month and then after a couple of months I look to see which ones have taken off and I focus consistent promotion and new content on them.
The thing is NO ONE can be 100% certain that any niche will make them money… you need to test and try lots of different things.
As a real life example (I am revealing this exact test, showing the domains and everything in the Web2Mayhem next week), I built 5 small niche blogs that are focused on amazon products. I built these blogs following a super easy strategy that was focused on what someone just starting out could realistically do. These are 5 related niches to each other but are each a tight niche blog that only contains a couple pieces of unique content and then is added into my auto content system (which web2mayhem members get) and after 2 months now, I have identified three of the five that are doing very well traffic wise and are converting and this month will net about $400.
The two that are not doing well I am going to give another month and if nothing, I will sell them… which will more then pay for the cost of them.
The point here is if I just built one or two of them, I might have built only the two that are making no money and from the initial research… they looked just as good as the winners did. I also made sure to build them correct, use great content and promote them.
You see the only guarantee is the effort… you have to do something to achieve results.
If you ever saw chariots of fire, a quote that really gets to me is when the character Sybil Gordon says to Harold…
“If you don’t run, you can’t win.”
You see Harold was pouting because he got beaten badly in his last race and as a result refused to race anymore because if he could not win he did not want to race.
Well it goes the same with trying to make money online, you do not quit just because you did not succeed on a single attempt. You have to keep racing!
I have heard so many people cry a river saying “this or that does not work” only to find out they never really tried or tried some short cut and never put any real effort into it.
It is NOT…
It IS the work. You have to use the tools, implement the training, test different niches and see what works and then keep doing what works.

One thing I am very adamant about is that no matter what system or strategy you are using to try and generate revenue; if you do not make it “Yours” it is never going to effectively achieve the results you are after.

No matter what, the most important thing you have to do, no matter the strategy that you are following, you have to make it your plan.
What Does That Mean?
First of all let me say that this does not just relate to my Web2Mayhem training, but it relates to any system or membership (even ebook) that you purchase with hopes of success. You need to figure out how to make the system fit in with what you are currently doing and figure out how to make it work for you.
That might sound super obvious… but it is not… NOT AT ALL.
What works for me is by no means what works best for you. We each have different strengths and ways of thinking and as a result what might flow and seem logical to one person, might be not be optimal for another.
You need to own what it is you are doing, you want to ensure you dont simply stop what you are currently doing and you need to tweak and test and do what works for you.
A huge thing I see a lot of people doing is they start trying some seo strategy and then a mailing comes out for a new cpa course and they stop what they were doing and start trying that, then a new social media course comes out and they stop again and start over with that… and the cycle continues.
As made famous in the 80′s… STOP THE INSANITY
The fact is lots of money can be made with SEO, PPC, PPV, Media Buys, Social Media and more… Yes they ALL work. But anyone I know that is doing really well did not focus on all those, they picked one… got good and profitable with it and are expanding to another. In fact most of them stick with one or two only, cause they are good at it and can manage it.
Stop following butterflies and looking for the next best thing. The diamonds are in your backyard now (read Acres of Diamonds. its a great book) and you need to just stop, pick one thing to focus on, follow the training and advice, figure out how it works and then tweak it to work for you… then follow the money. What I mean is see what is making you money and then improve on it. Then once you have a system and can maybe hire people to do things for you, and then move on to try something new.
If you have not gotten good at any one thing, have not been able to make your own plan that works for you… then chances are I can bet you are spending way more money then you are earning.
Enough of my rambling on

Another important part of being a Trusted Expert is doing proper site maintenance. And I’m not talking about just doing testing, either – it goes further than that. Bottom line, you won’t be seen as a Trusted Expert unless your site is properly maintained. So here’s what you need to do:
1. Consistently check for broken links on your site. You won’t be seen as any kind of expert, much less a trusted one, if you’re asking people to click on links that then go nowhere. Pointing people to useful information can only help them see you as a Trusted Expert – just make sure that you regularly check those links to make sure they are still valid as well as adding new ones when you find them.
2. Make sure to keep all pertinent info updated. To give you an example, I was recently contemplating a purchase from an online retailer. They weren’t a large, well known brand name, but they looked like they were trustworthy and secure, and since they had the best prices for what I was looking for, I was willing to give them a try. So I clicked on the ‘About Us’ section, which gave me info about their history (good), where they were physically located (also good) as well as some testimonials (should have been good but….) The problem with the testimonials? The most recent one was from 2007. And just like that, I lost faith in the retailer, and decided not to purchase from them, because either they hadn’t had a good review since 2007 and so had nothing to put up, or they were too lazy to proper site maintenance and update their ‘About Us’ section more than once every 5 years or so.
3. Conduct some low-level usability tests. I’m not saying that you need to go through the whole exercise of conducting full-blown usability tests (unless you’re a fairly big retailer, and then you absolutely should invest the money in it.) But what you can do (for free) is recruit some friends or colleagues to do a few simple tests. Think about something that the average visitor to your site would want to do – either get information on a specific thing, or make a purchase. Then go through the steps needed to do that – how is the process? If you can get friends to do it who haven’t been to the site or performed that action before, you can get some very valuable feedback about how your user views your site, an d how you can improve their experience.
4. Ask your customers for feedback on their experience. And actually listen. A big part of being a Trusted Expert is building a relationship with your users, and becoming their go-to guy for whatever your niche is. So once you manage to get them there, listen to what they want. Maybe they liked most of it, but they’d prefer if you had user reviews for your product, or they’d like to see what shipping costs would be before they get to checkout. Remember, the site is for them, not for you.
5. Keep the site updated, but don’t change everything all the time. It can be tempting, in the name of staying current, to always update the site with the latest images and graphics. But if you change things too much, people won’t recognize it. If you invest the time in the design of the site at the beginning, then you won’t have as much trouble with it. Strive to maintain a balance between keeping things fresh and keeping things familiar. You want people to feel comfortable and trust you, but you also want to be seen as current. I know that was kind of vague, but it’s something I can’t give you strict guidelines for – just be aware of it.
A Trusted Expert is someone who is one the ball, and is always their for their users as a resource. By performing proper site maintenance, you’ll ensure that the people you’ve managed to bring to your site will continue to see you that way, ensuring a lasting relationship that’s beneficial to you both.
